What is Public Health?
Public health promotes and protects the health of people and their communities. Public health focuses on preventing illness or injury and encourages healthy behaviors. Other key roles of public health include: conducting scientific research, educating, reducing health disparities, advocating, promoting health equity, tracking disease outbreaks, leading evidence-based quality practices and policy changes, preparing/mobilizing for disasters and emergencies, coordinating and integrating care and services across the lifespan, and much more.
