Construction Update for the Hwy 23/151 Project, Iowa County

Good morning,

Construction crews are gearing up to return and finish the work that was not able to get completed last fall due to the early and unexpected cold temperatures we all experienced.  Work is expected to resume on April 1st.  Work operations will require lane closures on Highway 151 as well as Highway 18.  Some ramp closures at the Highway 23 and Highway 18 interchange are expected to safely finish the work in those areas as well.  Please be on the lookout for our message boards to alert when those operations will be underway.

SAFETY 1st:

Please slow down and drive with caution through all work zones!

Read some work zone safety tips, and do your part to "Be Alert, and Be Safe" in work zones!

Work Operations

  • Construction crews will be working on installing the permanent pavement marking, joint sealing along the new asphalt shoulders and installing the rumble strips along the lanes of the pavements.  Some finish landscaping and other minor items are also expected to take place as well.
  • The outside lanes of Highway 151 will be closed starting next week Wednesday April 1st to begin the work operations.
