Position Title: Public Health Nurse, LTE Pool
Department: Health Department
Reports To: Health Department Director
Governing Committee: Health Committee
Hourly Wage: $22.66/hr. (1-1-10) FLSA: Non-exempt |

Purpose of Position
Implements public health programs, in an on-call capacity, including communicable disease prevention and control.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Setting up and providing immunizations for children and adults at the office and at clinic sites.
· Become familiar with the Wisconsin Immunization Registry.
· Training on Public Health Preparedness and Response issues.
· Become familiar with all public health objectives and programs both locally and statewide.
· When necessary, covers the staffing needs in the agency.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Job Functions:
· Preference for Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a National League for Nursing accredited program.
· Current license to practice professional nursing in Wisconsin at time of appointment and throughout employment.
· Preference for two years professional experience in a Public Health Agency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required to Perform Job Functions:
· Demonstrated professional oral and written communication skills.
· Must possess means of transportation and be able to transport oneself between various job sites within Iowa County.
Working Environment
· Typical working environment is within a non-smoking temperature-controlled office, or similar settings.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to operate office equipment, e.g. multi-line telephones, copiers, facsimile machines, typewriters, personal computers, calculators, etc.
· Ability to exert very moderate physical effort in sedentary to light work activity, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling, and stair climbing.
· Ability to transport equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. between office and clinics, with assistance and with use of equipment to facilitate that transport.
