BY AUTHORITY OF THE IOWA COUNTY HIGHWAY COMMISSIONER the following county bridges shall be permanently posted

for the following load weight restrictions:

 

           CTH W over the Dodge Branch in Town of Waldwick                                            40 ton limit

           CTH A over the Pecatonica River in Town of Mifflin                                              40 ton limit

           CTH C over Sneed Creek in Town of Wyoming                                                      40 ton limit

           CTH H over Knight Hollow Creek in Town of Arena                                              40 ton limit

           CTH II over Otter Creek in Town of Highland                                                        15 ton limit

           CTH HK over a branch of Pecatonica River in Town of Moscow                            40 ton limit

 

 

BY AUTHORITY OF THE RESPECTIVE TOWN BOARD the following list of township road bridges shall be permanently posted for the following load rate restrictions:

        

        P-25-0144        Powell Road                Town of Linden          Recommended to Post at 15 ton Weight Limit

        P-25-0903        River Road                 Town of Arena            Recommended to Post at 15 ton Weight Limit 

        P-25-0910        Blue River Road        Town of Highland        Recommended to Post at 14 ton Weight Limit

        P-25-0911        Wilson Road               Town of Highland        Recommended to Post at 15 ton Weight Limit

        P-25-0915        Cook-McFall Road    Town of Mifflin            Recommended to Post at 15 ton Weight Limit

 

Please note the River Road Bridge and the CTH H bridge in the Town of Arena are scheduled for 2009 reconstruction.

 

Road Closures & Construction

 

 

Motorists can use several strategies to get through construction zones with a minimum of stress:

• Buckle up for safety.

• Know where construction zones are located and allow extra time to get through them.

• Avoid peak travel hours. 

• Watch for special messages on electronic message boards as you approach construction zones.

• Slow down, get into the correct lane early, and merge cautiously.

• Stay alert for surprise slow-downs.

• Take an alternate route. 

In the event of inclement weather, some construction operations may be delayed.
