On this page you will find some of the County's miscellaneous surplus items.
Please be sure to read all information on each item listed to insure that you are fully aware of all pickup and payment requirements.

There is not a fee to register or to place a bid.

The award of an item will go to the highest bidder.

Bids received after the specified date and time, as indicated, will be rejected.

All items being offered for sale are being SOLD AS IS, which is with no warranty or guarantee.

All items have to be paid for and picked up on the dates indicated on the auction. If items can not be paid for and picked up on designated date, please do not bid on the item.

Any bidder who is awarded an item and fails to pickup and pay for that item may be prohibited from participating in any future County on-line sale activities.

All items must be loaded by owners. Not by the county.

The County reserves the right to make changes to items posted for sale, if deemed necessary, up to 24 hours prior to the posted bid closing time. It is the responsibility of bidders to monitor the current bid price and amend their bids accordingly, if they so desire, before the posted closing time.

The County reserves the right to reject all bids and cancel the offer to sell posted items at any time, if deemed necessary. The "current bid" will be updated automatically to reflect the most recent bid as of that date and time. 5.5% Tax will be added to the winning bid price per state law.

You may not sell an item. You can only bid on items.


Method of Payment
The winning bidder will receive an email notification. This notification must be presented to the cashier when paying. Please pay for the merchandise at the County Clerks Office, County Courthouse, 222 N. Iowa Street (Unless otherwise stated) on the day and time indicated on the auction site. Payment must be made prior to merchandise pick-up. Cash and checks may be used for payment.

WINNING BIDS ARE SUBJECT TO 5.5% SALES TAX.

Merchandise Pick-Up
Pick up location, date and times will be posted on the item page. Merchandise pick up will be on the scheduled time and date. A receipt showing that items have been paid for must be shown prior to release of merchandise.

 

You must register an account with a valid email address before you can bid.  Click "Register now" when you go to the auction site to register (or click here to go directly to the registration page).  Once you register you will be sent a confirmation email.  You need to follow the instructions in the confirmation email (make sure you check your spam folder) and then log in before you can bid.

If you are having problems with the activation link in your email make sure that your email provider is allowing pictures/content.  Example: In hotmail you need click "Always show content from auction@iowacounty.org" for the links/pictures to show up.  This may be worded differently in different email providers.
